It’s been said, a person can live about forty days without food, about three days without water, about eight minutes without air...but only for one second without hope. In Chet’s book, “Hope is the Key—Living Through God’s Superpower”, each chapter will help you instill the most important piece you need in life—HOPE! I highly recommend this book for any stage your life is in; as who doesn’t need hope.

I spent over 30 years of my life flying airplanes. People always had hope that they would arrive at their destination safe, and sound. Life isn't that way though. Now as a chaplain in retirement years, I find myself meeting people where they are at, typically in their pain. No matter the circumstances there is always a longing for hope. That is what a chaplain can bring. Chet's book, using the analogy of BBQ ribs, brings hope. When you order ribs, you hope it will be good. There are things that can be done to make them better and certain things will lessen the experience. In the pages of Chet's book, you will find what the ingredients are in hope as well as those things that might lessen hope. A delightful read and I will be using the ideas in my role as a chaplain.

In this brief, but significant book, Chet Gladkowski seeks to help us understand the concept of ‘hope,’ diving into the details of many different kinds of hope. Gladkowski provides simple and informative steps to acquiring and receiving ultimate hope, including hope found in weakness, hope in community, hope in learning, and even hope in failure. This book helps us to view our successes and triumphs in a new way that puts the emphasis on our relationship with God. This is valuable and helpful to anyone who struggles with hope for life and for the future.”

To live life without hope leaves a heart full of anguish and despair. Where do we find hope that is not fleeting? We live in desperate times. Looking for signs of hope from the national or international news broadcasts only deepens the despair. But there is a hope that can transform your anxiety and despair and repair your heart. That's why I'm excited to recommend "HOPE is the Key - Living Through God's Superpower." Written by my friend, Chet Gladkowski, this delightful and easy-to-understand guide will refill your life with hope. His practical and humorous style makes you want more and more. That's what true hope does---it makes you want more. He doesn't stop with just filling your life with hope. Chet goes further with steps for you to fill the lives of people around you with hope too. I'm so excited about HOPE is the Key that I'm sharing a copy with my ministry partners and friends for Christmas. I know you will want to read and share this book on hope by Chet Gladkowski. In this time of uncertainty, social divisiveness, and political ineptitude and corruption in our country, I found myself frustrated, angry, depressed, and seemingly without hope for the future of my family, friends, and our country. Reading about hope has given me a fresh perspective on life and helped me become a more hopeful person in a world that desperately wants to drain all the hope out of you. This is a must-read book!

In this book, the author gives us practical ways to keep our focus on Jesus, so we are never alone in fighting the temptations of Satan. Satan wants to keep us discouraged, afraid, angry, fearful, and feel abandoned by our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. We know in our hearts that Jesus will never abandon us, but it is up to us to maintain that focus. We ALWAYS have hope knowing that God loves us and forgives our humanness. We have the HOPE of eternal life with Him. God gave us the Holy Spirit, in every one of us who believe in Him. It is a gift from God. This Holy Spirit within us assures us of our Hope for living in this world surrounded by the good and evil it has to offer. This book is filled with practical ways to obtain hope and share our hope with others. I hope you find your life filled with hope after reading Chet’s wonderful book.”

Has life left you drained, desperate, and depressed? Hopelessness, loneliness, and emptiness can leave you
without satisfaction in your life.
So, how empty is your hope tank? For many, the gauge on their hope tank is really low.
Is that you?
Like your car needs gas in the tank to move, you and I have a hope tank. Without hope, we don’t move forward
very far, very fast or very well. So, what is hope?
Hope: living today while facing and welcoming tomorrow.
Whether you’re dealing with tragic loss, or just aimlessly drifting without energy or purpose, you’re emotionally
exhausted and drained. You’re wandering through this life in a daze of hopelessness, trying desperately to
make it through another day.
And why? Just so you can do it all over again tomorrow without anything getting better. There’s got to be a
better way –and there is!
There is hope for YOU!
“HOPE is the Key – Living through God’s Superpower” is just what you need. This small but delightful book will walk
with you, increasing your hope, love and satisfaction in life.
Its witty and practical style will lift your spirit, filling you with hope. The expectation, enthusiasm, and
anticipation that you need is inside HOPE is the Key. You’ll be able to live confidently, walking towards the

Whenever you see ribs, they are side by side. They are perfectly parallel with one another. They got that way not because:
• They had braces.
• Someone threatened them.
• Someone beat them up to grow straight.
• Their mother guilted them into standing tall.
No, ribs are side by side because that’s the way they are designed. That’s the way they are made. From their DNA, they are designed to be straight and lined up together. Think of it this way: if they weren’t side by side, then they couldn’t make a rib cage.
The other reason they are side by side is because that’s the way they work together. This allows them to flex with every breath. They move up and down, in and out, with each inhale and exhale. If they were solid like a skull, we would be dead.
When the ribs are side by side, they not only follow their design, but also fulfill their purpose.
It makes no sense for ribs to try and be something they aren’t. If they start crossing one another, or if they get too far apart or too close together, they don’t function properly. And when your ribs malfunction, life becomes a lot more painful and difficult.
Hope is like that too. Hope needs to be side by side with more hope. Hope never stands alone. It only and always thrives with more hope. A person who clings to hope by themselves, will very likely lose sight of hope over time. To be continually refilled with hope, you must stand side by side with hopeful people.
How’s it going with your hope? Are you trying to stand alone, or are you standing next to people who are going to support you—people who are standing with you?
Everyone needs a hope-filled community. Find your hope with people who will stand alongside of
you.
